Electrical Requirements for Simply Soft Play Equipment

We want your inflatable fun to be bouncy — not sparky.
To keep things safe, smooth and party-ready, here’s everything you need to know about powering a bouncy castle or inflatable equipment.

Read on so the blower hums happily and not a single safety switch throws a tantrum. 😊

Quick Summary

  • Inflatables must be no longer than 50 metres from a power supply. πŸ“πŸ”Œ
  • We Do Not Supply generators — please provide mains power. πŸš«β›½
  • Use suitable outdoor-rated cables and an RCD-protected socket. πŸ›‘οΈ - We do supply RCD and test socket being used

Power Location & Distance

The blower needs a steady mains supply and must be positioned within 50 metres of the power socket.
If the distance exceeds 50m, the power drop could overload the circuit or reduce blower efficiency — which means a saggy castle and disappointed little royals.

Measure from the socket to the blower plug along the cable run (not “as the crow flies”). πŸ“πŸ¦

Generators & Alternative Power

We do not supply generators — ever. 🚫 Generators create unstable voltage and potential safety hazards for inflatables and are not covered in our hires.

Please ensure a safe mains supply is available at the event location.

Socket, Fuse & Circuit Needs

Most blowers run from a standard 13A single-phase socket, but check the spec for your particular unit on hire from Sinply Soft Play Bromley.

The socket should be on a dedicated circuit where possible, with an RCD (residual current device) for earth leakage protection.

If multiple inflatables are in use, ensure the total load does not exceed the circuit’s rating to avoid nuisance trips. πŸ”ŒπŸ“Š

Inflatable blowers need to be plugged in to a dedicated socket, not a multi plug with other electrical devices.

Cables & Safety Tips

  • We Use outdoor-rated extension cables 🧰
  • We fully unwind cables πŸŒ€
  • We do not run cables across public pathways; where unavoidable, we use cable ramps to prevent trips. 🚧
  • We secure cables, run cables away from where children or pets might play. πŸΆπŸ‘¦

Before the Event

  1. Confirm a mains supply is available within 50 metres of the blower location. βœ”οΈ
  2. Check sockets are RCD protected and in good working order. πŸ› οΈ - We do supply RCD with all Leads and test the socket being used.
  3. Provide any site-specific access instructions so the setup team finds the socket easily. πŸ—ΊοΈ

Follow these electrical requirements and your inflatables will be the star of any party — safely and reliably.
If in doubt, double-check your measurements and power setup well before the big day, and keep everyone bouncing, not buzzing! πŸŽ‰
